Distant Worlds returns to Montréal with a special tribute to the original FINAL FANTASY VII

Back in Montréal for the first time since 2017, this one-night-only event will include a special tribute to the original FINAL FANTASY VII! GRAMMY®-winning conductor Arnie Roth leads the 100-piece Distant Worlds Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus in a breathtaking performance of music from throughout the 30+ years of FINAL FANTASY games, in front of spectacular HD video projections direct from game developer SQUARE ENIX.

Yoko Shimomura attendance cancelled

We regret to announce that due to the increased threat of the coronavirus in Japan and around the world, Yoko Shimomura’s travel to North America has been canceled. Regrettably, she will not be able to appear at this Saturday’s performance. We are disappointed, but acknowledge the significance of this global health concern, and respect this safety decision. VIP ticket holders, please check your email for further details. We are saddened by this unforeseen change, but we look forward to a great performance on Saturday!

To my dear friends in Montreal,

I was so looking forward to meeting you at the Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY Montreal concert, but after many discussions, I will unfortunately have to cancel my appearance due to the ongoing coronavirus situation here in Japan, and around the world.

I believe we should always choose truth and compassion over rumors and fear.
However, we made this decision not only with my safety in mind, but also with yours, the fans who I would be meeting in person.
I am truly saddened and disappointed that I will not be able to attend.

I look forward to visiting Montreal one day in the future, when this challenging situation is behind us.

ゲストとして参加させていただく予定でしたが、様々なリスクを考慮して今回は残念ながら渡航を断念することにいたしました。

関係各所に幾度と相談させていただいた上で数々のリスクを考慮すると、現状では公演を楽しみに来てくださるお客様と私自身のためにも、慎重にならざる得ないという判断に至りました。
ギリギリまで関係各所と相談を重ねた結果です。
私自身悲しいですし、悔しいです。
この大変な時期を乗り越え、またいつかモントリオールに伺いたいと思っています。
